Over the past fourteen years the last weekend in April has become synonymous with the Blue Ridge Horticulture Association’s Growing in the Mountains plant sale. This will be the third year Growing in the Mountains has been held at the Asheville Farmers Market. This year is no exception in that a wide array of outstanding plants will be offered for sale. Available plants will include: herbs, hostas, Japanese maples, annual flowers, hanging baskets, native azaleas, and conifers.

The Weaverville Art Safari is a self-guided art studio tour. The biannual event is in its ninth year and will feature 44 artists this spring. April is the perfect time of year to visit Weaverville, as spring will be in full-bloom and the mountains will be resplendent with fresh greenery and new life. Weaverville is located just a few minutes north of Asheville in the heart of the Blue Ridge mountains and offers visitors a unique small-town Appalachian atmosphere with several street side cafes and eateries to compliment the many galleries and studios.
