The trout bite the best in the cooler winter and spring months in our freshly stocked mountain stream fed pond. Our porches are stocked with firewood and our private hot tubs are on every porch to make our cabins very cozy on chilly nights. Only five minutes away the magnificent Biltmore Estate is especially appealing in both the winter and spring. Although our leaves have fallen, there is still plenty of color in our vacation rental resort. Our winter rye grass is greener than ever, our firepowers are still fiery red and our nandinas are full of red berries. While our thousands of evergreens continue to provide a green background. (see these photos from last Spring and Winter) We have replaced our beds of annuals with beds of pansies, which bloom all winter. Winter and as spring are delightful times of the year for your Asheville Vacation. The record cold temperatures that gripped the eastern US are gone and the weather in Asheville have returned to normal moderate levels. Temperatures are in the 40's and 50's in the daytime and the 30's at night. The weather should begin to get warmer by Valentine's Day in February, when the first daffodils should begin to bloom.
For those interested in a ski vacation while enjoying the amenities of a delightful city, our romantic vacation rentals are ideal. Our thousands of hemlock, holly, cypress, and pine trees are complemented by thousands of rhododendrons, mahonia belias, and azaleas as well as hundreds of nandinas, variegated privet, firepower, English laurels and golden holly bushes. In the colder months, the abundant red berries in our nadinas and hollies provide a beautiful contrast to the dark green of our evergreen foliage.
The temperatures are generally moderate during the day and colder at night, ideal for many outdoor activities, such as hiking and taking advantage of the on-site recreational faculties. A few minutes away are a number of fine restaurants and the lively night life of downtown Asheville. A lively new town, Biltmore Park Town Square is only 15 minutes south of us, complete with fine new restaurants and a theater.
